A Book is Always Better than the Movie

I recently went to the stage production of ‘Mary Poppins’. It was exactly what I’ve come to expect from Disney: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious–spectacular! However, it was quite a bit different than the movie by the same name, even though both are produced by Disney. It got me wondering if the stage production is more similar to the books by P.L. Travers. And then I had a thought…how is it possible that I haven’t read those books?? A good reminder--if you are watching the movie, TV show, or stage production of a children’s book--READ THE BOOK!! You know what they say, the book is always better than the movie!

Here are two on the BIG SCREEN this fall:

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs - by Judi Barrett

Where the Wild Things Are - by Maurice Sendak
